Ionic Footbath

Ionic Foot Bath

Ionic Foot Baths are non-medical 35-40 minute sessions, using a stainless steel coiled array that is immersed in water inside a foot bath tub. We add sea salt to the foot bath water to generate the ionization process, as an electrical current passes through the array.

Companies offering foot baths make claims that the bath water changes colors as it draws out toxins. These are false claims. The water changes color because of the chemical reaction between the electricity and the salt water, not because of ‘toxins’ being removed from the body. Approximately 90% of all foot baths will have the similar ‘orange/brown’ water present during a session. What distinguishes each foot bath is the debris that collects on top of the water. We can do two sessions side by side and see a surprising difference in the debris. As we do not make any claims that the foot bath will cure, treat, prevent or diagnose any condition, many clients have claimed that they experience reduced pain, higher energy levels and relief from allergies, insomnia and other conditions after a treatment.

So, if there is no proof that ionic foot baths do not “detox” the body, then why do them? The one irrefutable fact is that negative ion foot baths increase your alkalinity. If you test the pH of your urine before and after an ionic foot bath, there will be a significant increase in your pH. Why is this good? Disease thrives in an acidic environment. The more alkaline and less acidic your body is, the less likely you will develop diseases such as cancer, arthritis, gout, parasites, and other acidic conditions. A daily diet full of alkaline foods will also help you build up your alkaline reserves. These are not claims, these are scientific facts.

Ionic foot baths are gentle and safe, but there are a few contraindications to consider. It is not recommended to have a session if you have a pacemaker, or any other battery operated, electrical or metal implants. Other contraindications include: pregnancy, breast-feeding, organ transplant recipient, and epilepsy. Be advised if you are on dialysis, have diabetes, and/or any other medical condition, you should consult with your physician.

There are safeguards related to the use of Ionic foot baths. We ask that you remove all metal jewelry, and any other metal that may touch your skin during your session, i.g., belt buckle. Do not use your cell phone or computer during your session. If you have low blood sugar, be sure to eat something prior to your session. Prescription medications should not be taken within four hours prior to your session. If you have a metal implant, you may find the EMF generated by the array to be uncomfortable. In the event of discomfort, immediately inform your therapist so we may adjust the setting to a more comfortable level.

We employ the use of the purist therapeutic grade essential oils for your foot rinse. All formulas are blended to the client’s specifications.
